The group, which typically performs at royal events, will be composed of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Mark Owen.
In a joint statement, they said: “What a stage to come back on. This will be our first live performance since the Odyssey Tour, which took place in 2019.”The coronation of a new King was celebrated with a sizable live band and orchestra, a choir, and military drums against the backdrop of Windsor Castle.
As the first international ambassador of the Prince’s Trust, the iconic US singer and Commodores legend said: “To share the stage with the other performers at The Coronation Concert is a once-in-a-lifetime event and it will be an honor and a celebration.”
“I am excited to be performing at the Coronation Concert, and helping to shine a further light on the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund, whose work includes on-the-ground initiatives to fundraising, with the aim to find solutions to child trafficking,” said Katy Perry, who was named an ambassador of The British Asian Trust by the then-Prince Charles in 2020.
It’s a true honor to represent Africa and the Commonwealth at such a momentous occasion, the Nigerian singer-songwriter who will perform on stage remarked. I look forward to attending the celebrations and introducing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!”
The U.K. has been Scherzinger’s home away from home for many years, so she said: “It means so much to me to be lending my voice through the gift of song.” Scherzinger will perform with pianist Lang Lang. The song I’ll be singing is incredibly intense and poignant. And having the opportunity to perform on stage alongside Lang Lang will be a dream come true.
Who else will appear at the Coronation concert?
In pre-recorded video messages and sketches, Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, Bear Grylls, Sir Tom Jones, and the beloved children’s book character Winnie The Pooh will all make special appearances.
The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera, The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal College of Music, and The Royal College of Art will collaborate for the first time ever to present a special performance that will feature Ncuti Gatwa, a new Doctor Who actor.
Along with The Coronation Choir, which includes of singers from various organizations across the UK, a 74-piece classical orchestra will also perform.
